October 3, 201114 yr Panel being glued up. White Oak/ Ash 1"X 2" x 30"s    Yes, that is how I clamp things up in my shop.  These two ( yep there are two sitting there) are 3/4"x 4-3/4"x 40".  Thy used to be the same board, until I resawed them.  They will be the Edges/handles pieces.   I will skinny them down to about 3" wide, to get rid the that UGLY edge.  As for Stove Tray #2, already done and delivered.  Ash edges/handles, with a SYP panel.   It's scheduled for Paint (yuck) later, at least the pine portion, that is.  Daughter might just stain the whole shebang.   It her call, not mine.  'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
October 3, 201114 yr Author  Just brought in a second load of the old "barn" wood this morning.    A couple long 1xs, one was 14" wide, the other was 12".    About a dozen more rafters, and about 6 "collar ties" .   Rafters were more of that Oak/Ash, with the collat ties looking like more of that Cherry.    I was unable to lift some of the 4x6s, and none of the 6x6s in the pile.  Alook at the pile that this tray came from.....  'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
October 3, 201114 yr Steve, you have been a busy woodworker here lately. Looks like you are doing a little catching up. Great job, thanks for sharing. John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
October 4, 201114 yr Author  Got to get things done before it's too cold to work out there.   No heat, glue don't work too well. Some of that old wood MIGHt just turn into a Blanket Chest.   Taking a bit of time to de-nail them, resaw them down, and plane them up.  LOTS of old nails, too.   Now, IF I can just get those old beams out to the shop.   4x6s, and 6x6s.  There is a 1x14x 12'er in the shop right now, with a "live edge" .    Board has split a few times, but I think I can rip and glue it back up.   That 14" is at the NARROW section of the board. Should be a bit of fun for awhile.  'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
