October 7, 201114 yr In the South, a nice coolness to the air on this beautiful autumn morning. Sure makes you enjoy being outside with the lower humidity.  Another craft show to do tonight. Was a push to get ready after the two day show last weekend. Sold out of several items last weekend so I had to get more inventory made. When I get this one, I have a break for a few weeks before I have another one to do.  Christmas orders are coming in and trying to get those items ready. How about you, are you making anything for gifts or to sell this season?  I also have started on the Kitchen Island project. Got the router bit in yesterday to make the Raised Panel doors. I hope to get those milled up and in the clamps this weekend. That would be a nice thing to check off the list. Then it will be on to working on the Brazilian Cherry top for the island.  Still working on changing out the windows in my house and replacing the baseboard from laying the hardwood floors.  It seems like I keep adding more to the list than I am checking off.  So what about you? What are you working on that you would like to share with us? Pictures are nice, so give us some progress pictures if you can.  John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
October 7, 201114 yr I started work this week on my Christmas gifts/items to sell. I picked up about $300 worth of lumber to make a bunch of cutting boards in different designs to sell as well as a couple of 5'x5'x1/2" sheets of baltic birch to make some more of the kid's knock down rocking chairs. So far I got all the wood for the cutting boards cut into strips and have been getting all the first glue ups done. Yesterday I got 11 setups glued for making end grain boards in 2 different styles. Each glue up is about 12"Wx24"L in 3/4" stock with a mix of walnut, cherry and maple. Today I will run them all through the drum sander to level them out so I can cross cut them for the 2nd glue up to make the patterns. I will also get the 1st glue ups done for the 3D boards that I will be making using 1" stock in maple, walnut, cherry and padauk. Allen WorshamCorona, CAallenworsham@earthlink.nethttp://www.awcreationsandwoodcrafts.com'Graze in every man's field, but always give your own milk' J. October 8, 201114 yr Started working on this folding step stool last week. Doesn't need to be done until March for Great grandson's 1st birthday. Had a little spare time so thought I'd start before it gets down in the 20's, AGAIN! Â Harry BrinkBulldog WoodworkingMontana
October 8, 201114 yr If I ever get out of my robe, I'll finish bolting down the sanders and grinders on their new collapsible shelf. Then, it's on to the treadmill/sander.
October 8, 201114 yr I got an unexpected day off from the other job. Good time to get out to the shop and catch up on projects. I whipped these thresh holds up for a new client today. Another coat or two of oil tomorrow.  http://www.scottswoodproductions.comhttp://www.facebook.com/ScottsWoodProductions
October 9, 201114 yr Author Some great looking projects guys, thanks for sharing them with the rest of us. I got some of the face frame milled up today for the island and the case all cut and ready. I hope to get some primer on it tomorrow before I start to put it together. I may even hold off and paint if before it goes together. I am waiting on them to get me the paint to match the cabinets. Delivered a couple of cutting boards this morning and picked up a couple of orders. Keep the sawdust coming..... John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com

October 10, 201114 yr Author So I got the island case glued up and the face frame all milled up and ready to put together then install on the cabinet. Then I made the mistake. Yep, cut one of the pieces too short. Got to mill up another one now. It will have a face frame on both sides with false doors on one side. I have got to install an electrical box in the top part of the face frame just under the counter top. It is coming on though. Â John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
October 10, 201114 yr Author You won't need hollowing tools for pepper mills. You drill the holes out in the middle. You could probably make some nice pepper mills. One thing I do Charles is try to glue up my blanks a day before I turn them. I know you don't have to, but I like to give the glue some time to setup before I start turning.John Moody John Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com

October 10, 201114 yr Author Your right, you could make shakers with those. Same thing, just drill out the center for the pepper. Â Here is the glue I use for pen tubes and for the CA/BLO finish. I get it from Woodcraft. Â Â John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
