October 10, 201114 yr Ok all i am starting to experience some problems that I would like input on. The tailstock seems to be loosening on its own while turning so I need to find a way to correct it. Â Ok first I know that the quill or whatever you call it is wobbling a lot when I try to drill using the 1/2 drill chuck so how do i keep that from happening? I have tried adjusting by tightening lever "B" but that doesn't always work. Â 2 The part of the lathe marked "A" is CONSTANTLY loosening when turning and don't know why or how to correct that. Â Its an old Turncrafter Pro that I got about a year and a half ago. Â Thanks. Â Charles
October 10, 201114 yr Charles, when you turn the handle (A) in and get it to the place you want it, you should be able to tighten down the lever ( and it hold it in place. If the piece is wobbling in the tail stock when you are drilling, you may need to replace that piece. It could be worn and allowing extra movement. It should be so tight it can't move, but it should have a lot of play in it either. Â There should also be a lever to tighten the tail stock to the lathe bed so it doesn't move. With everything tight, it should have any any play in it. Â John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com

The Lock Lever (6) must be firmly tightened against the Tail Axis (8) to keep it tight. As for the wobbling, it looks like the Tail Axis has a keyed slot. Maybe the key is missing or worn.
