October 13, 201114 yr Good Morning Friends,What determines the width of the glazing you are inserting in the glazing of a window or door?
October 13, 201114 yr The last time I did it, I sloped it from the outer edge of the frame to the wood lip of the inside. A good slope so that the water will run off. Harry BrinkBulldog WoodworkingMontana
October 14, 201114 yr Author Good Morning Fellows,Good answers by both of you this morning and personally I like to make them equal to the inside edge of the window or door for it looks crappy if the compound exceeds the width of the inside edge of each.Personally I make two passes one to get the compound into the rabbet for a firm placement and then dip the knife into some mineral spirits and cut the compound to the edge of the inside edge on an angle that will allow for water to run off.Thank you both for your support.
