I guess you noticed I didn't post a Friday post this past Friday. I was at a conference all week and didn't have a chance to check in on the board.

Boy it was one long week with no TPW all week. I didn't get any shop time this past week or over the weekend. I did get to go to the shop tonight. Got the face frames for the Kitchen Island put together and a special order cutting board in the first glue up. It sure felt good to get out in the shop and make a little sawdust.

So what about you, what did you get to work on this past weekend? Tell me and show me your projects!

I have been sanding and sanding and sanding some more on my cutting boards. I have 11 end grain boards and 9 3D boards and had to run them all through the drum sander. It took me a lot longer than I had planned as I thought I had more 80 grit paper but was out, so I had to make the last roll last. Then I got to go through a run them all through with the 120 grit. I got everything all trimmed up and edge routed and was starting on the final sanding process yesterday with the ROS and will finish htings up today. But I had to do one more edge on the router table on one of the boards and got the router table all set up and flipped the switch and the router started up and made some racket and then shut down. So I spent the next 2.5 hours trouble shooting it and taking things apart to find what was wrong. That Freud 3000 3.25hp router was a pain to work through as it didn't want to come apart. I pulled the switch out and checked everything in from there and blew out all the dust and it checked the connections so power was getting into the motor but not turning over. So after getting frustrated I whacked it with a rubber mallet and it sputtered to life with a bunch of sparks and then died again. So I pulled off motor cover and whacked it again and saw where the sparks were coming from and looked into it closer and found a loose connection which I repaired and then it fired back up and was good to go. Like I always say, if it doesn't work, use a bigger hammer.Grin.gif

24.gif I like the hammer philosophy.

I was removing some brackets that hold the blinds at the windows and the screws were not coming out. After a little aggravation I got the saw out and cut them loose. 24.gif

Spent Saturday at Dads place, family picnic, and I was lazy all day Sunday, piddling around and hanging out with mama and kids. Sorry to say, I was absolutely worthless for shop time. I will be out in the shop all this weekend though, got me another cabinet job. I am excited to get it started!
