Writing these quizzes makes one realize how fast the year is going by, it seems like only yesterday I was writing the first one of the month and preparing the home for the upcoming winter months, is this in an essence a form of home improvements?

Certain things you do to winterize your home could be considered as improvements.

Such as replacing your single pane windows with double pane, inert gas ones.

Upgrading insulation.

Of course, these two examples are not "annual" activities, such as repair caulking and weather stripping.

In most cases as you stated anything that you might do to the home that will help keep the weather out and warm air in is a form of improving the home. One does not need to add a room or paint the house for it to be considered a home improvement.
