pattern designer ? I have a couple, for portraits I prefer either Dave Hall or Charlie Dearing, Diana Thompson does a fantastic job with compound cut patterns http://www.scrollsawinspirations.com/default.asp?ID=2 and I also enjoy Sheila Landry's patterns http://www.sheilalandrydesigns.com/, Sheila is a member here also.

I've cut several of Sheila's patterns, and they a great patterns. I like to cut a wide variety of things so I get patterns from several designers, including myself, most of the patterns I make are word art or mini clocks

Joe, I'm trying to wean my self from cutting Diana's ribbon angels, I have cut at least 60 in the past month or so. I've done a bunch of the bird houses too. Love cutting her patterns, but I got some other stuff that has been needed doing for a couple weeks now. I finished up cutting a Clint Eastwood portrait last night, got to get it sanded and finished tomorrow. It's one of Charlie Dearing's patterns.

Okay Being a pattern designer myself I cant pick just one.. I have many faves and every designer has one type of pattern they do well and that becomes their favorite thing to design. For me its car patterns. I can tell you that I spend countless hours and tons of time making them. But the overall look and feel when they are done is amazing.

I have many friends who are pattern designers as well and I can tell you they are all hard working, mulit talented, individuals who work very hard to improve their patterns and make things they think scrollers want to buy or cut. I can't pick one because they are all my faves. I love each and every designers work that I have seen. Each designer brings part of them to through the pattern and it shows when its seen by others.

My thoughts are these dont pick one designer try them all... the more you try the better your selection of patterns..

Keep up the hard work fellow designers and thanks to those of you out there who support us..
