Good Morning Friends,

When you have framed a wall portion of a room addition and after you have stood the wall up and braced it only to find that you missed one stud in the wall that would have helped to hold an intersecting wall.

What method would you use to anchor the stud into the wall?

I thought letting my smart comment sit for 10 hours would get some responses. oh well the answer you are seeking Ralph is to toenail the new stud into place.

Good Morning John,

Your answer is right on the money for there are some who make a project out of such a situation but as you stated all one needs to do is to toenail the stud into place or turn it flat in the opening and secure it next to a stud already in the right location.

Why are they called toe nails and not finger nails. you hold them in your hand and those are always the ones your hit with the hammerGrin.gif

For fun on the job we use to send the young  apprentice for coffee and   told him to head for the lumber yard and pick up some 16d toe nails as we were out of them. We say if you can't find them go to the contractors desk and ask when the toe nail would be in stock. We would all have a good laugh at coffee break when the boy returned. BTW he turned out to be an ace that boy.
