WOODWORKING QUIZ for 26 OCT 11 "a learning tool"

Good Morning Friends,

If you are planning to revitalize your existing shop or make a new one in a corner of the basement with a post right in the middle what would be some of the things you would do to make the shop more efficient?

I would build some circular shelving that would attach to the post.  Probably about 2 feet in diameter.  Then add some raised edging on the perimeter and add some radial edging.  This would hold a lot of fasteners and other small woodworking items.

Now, if you were really creative, this whole circular shelving unit would rotate!

Good Morning Larry,

Boy, are you on the right track this morning and I'll bet now that you have come up with a good shop tip many will follow your advise. I don't have that problem however for I have clear span ceiling joists of pre-manufactured trusses for my ceiling joists which are 12" high with a one foot over hang on the beams front and back to allow for ventilation to the loft which is not heated or cooled during summer.

Thanks for your support.

I was going to say what Larry said but another use could be if you have narrow free standing tools such as a small band saw, disc sander, scroll and say a drill press then arrange them around the post and have an electrical drop on the post.
