October 30, 201114 yr These are fun to make. Â Can't remember if I posted these. Â These are cherry and walnut laminated and the entire spatula is cut out on the scroll saw. Â I use a belt sander to shape the bottom and edge. Finish is my favorite USP grade mineral oil and 100% beeswax. Â Â Â I need to make more of these for the holidays. Â Great stocking stuffers. Â SQ Â It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing.
October 31, 201114 yr Author Mike, Â thanks. Â Â These are also a great way to use scrap wood. Â Â SQ Â It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing.
October 31, 201114 yr Great looking spatulas. You are right, those would make great stocking stuffers. I may have to borrow your idea. Thanks for sharing. John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com

November 1, 201114 yr Author Glad you like them.  Quick and easy on a scroll saw.  I edited the post as those pictures are cherry and walnut not maple and walnut like I originally noted.   SQGreg Aksdal said:Great looking spatulas, and they would be a great way to use up hardwood scraps Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
