October 31, 201114 yr I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Paul a couple years ago through a Shopsmith forum. At the time he was living in AZ (his permanent residence is on Vancouver Island) and I mentioned on the forum that I was headed out to harvest some Mesquite. He said he'd love to go along. Paul, my wife and son and I found our Mesquite and that was the beginning of a great friendship. Last year winter, he asked me to come down to his place south of Tucson to see his newest creation, a Chevalet de Marquetrie. I had given him some Boise d' Arc and he had incorporated it in the Chevalet. I knew that Paul was an extraordinarily talented woodworker but I was not prepared for this engineering feat. This mostly wood machine is the most fantastic piece of work I've been privileged to use. I thought the Shopsmith was an engineering marvel but Paul's Chevalet takes the honors. He has since built another one for his shop on the island. The second one has some improvements, but after using the first one, I don't know how it could have been improved. Paul has just completed a web site. Please take a look at his Chevalet and some of his beautiful marquetry. ShipwrightI forgot to mention that before he retired, he built sailboats. You can read about them on his site, also.    Gene 'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. Chesterton
