November 1, 201114 yr I finished these last night. The one without a frame is for a customer that will frame it himself. And yes this pattern had some big time pucker factor to it.  Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
November 1, 201114 yr Those are fantastic. Â Outstanding job of cutting them. Â I have never tried a portrait. Â The frame is perfect for it. What type of wood? Â You have really captured him. Â There is no doubt that it's "The Duke". Â (just kidding)SQÂ It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing.
November 2, 201114 yr Author And all this time I thought it was Clint Eastwood . The framed one is 1/4" red oak and just pine for the frame, stained with minwax early american, the other is 1/8" baltic birch. You need to try a portrait at least once, I love doing them. I forgot to mention that the pattern is by Charlie Dearing, his patterns are great, but not for the faint of heart LOL. It's 11x14 too.  Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
November 2, 201114 yr Nice Greg! That beard must of have been a royal PITA! It looks just like Clint, stogy and all. How much time does this take? John MorrisThe Patriot Woodworker

November 3, 201114 yr Author Thanks everybody. Jonh I spent about 2.5 hours on this one, pieces like this will try your patience if you let them. This had over 90 cuts in it and I did 30-40 per night rather than trying to finish it all at once. I started a tugboat scene about 2 years ago that has over 300 cuts in it, that has yet to be finished, (it's for me anyway so it can wait) I really need to dig it out and work on it some more.  Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
