November 2, 201114 yr Good Morning Friends,When you pick out good straight lumber and take it to your shop to process into your projects but, over night it decides to start doing various things that could make them useless for your project.What are some of the different changes can you think might cause you grief when you look at the lumber you took so much time picking out?
November 2, 201114 yr Humidity in the shop, heat, or coolness in the shop.All affect the moisture in the shop, & we all know wood likes moisture. I just keep hammering away.
November 3, 201114 yr Author Good Morning Fellows,Yes, you are right that the wood can absorb some moisture from your shop as well as to do other things such as to twist like an airplane propeller, crook, cup and bow if you didn't take the precaution of stickering it to let the wood to acclimate to your shops atmosphere for a couple of days or weeks depending on the conditions in your shop. Even after stickering the wood you would still want to add some weight so the top boards will not do the things that you don't want to happen.
