November 3, 201114 yr I was looking for some lights to put on my table for an outdoor craft show tomorrow night. I went by Lowe's at lunch today and they had an LED clip on light for 14.95. I purchased three and wish I had gotten the rest of the ones they had. After I walked out I was thinking what a great light to clip on at my lathe to see better. I could also clip it on at the Router table and Band Saw to see much better. I may be making another trip by to Lowe's this afternoon to get more. Brushed metal with an adjustable neck. Â It doesn't have a magnetic base, but you could probable make one pretty easy for it. The clamp is nice and strong so it should stay put. So if you are looking for some task lighting you might want to check this out. Â Â John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
November 3, 201114 yr Neat light. No heat makes it great for close up work.I'd be interested in the "bulbs" life, though. Some other LEDs I have have pretty short "bulb" life. Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. Chesterton
November 4, 201114 yr I found these bulbs at Sam's well over a year ago, maybe even closer to two, they came two to a pack and have 36 led's in them. They are supposed to have a 5 year life, and so far they are still going strong. They only pull 3.5 watts and are good for close up, I have one in a swing arm type lamp for my scroll saw and overall am pleased with it. If i remember right they were around $25 for a package. Sam's doesn't have them and I checked the Lights of America site and they don't list them anymore. Â Â Â Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
