November 5, 201114 yr This is my collection of cutting boards that I made up for a craft show tomorrow. I've never done a craft show before so I guess I'll see how it goes. If I sell them all I'll assume I'm priced too low. If I don't sell any that mean I'm priced too high or just that no one likes them?Â
November 5, 201114 yr They look good Ron. Good luck at the craft fair. If they don't buy any then it's a case of poor taste on their part!

November 5, 201114 yr Very nice looking boards.  Hope you sell out! SQ It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing.
November 6, 201114 yr Author The show yesterday wasn't the best, but I've had worse. They had quite a few vendors, but there just weren't that many spectators show up. I did sell a couple $40 cutting boards, and a little table that I'd built for $75. I came out on the good side, and not totally discouraged. In the summer I usually do car shows with t-shirts and plaques, but this was my first craft show. I'll try another one. I did have another table set up with samples of my sublimation work and there were several people interested in that stuff and said they'd be sending me pictures to put on t-shirts, plaques and boxes, so there may still be a little more coming from that show.  My wife has been after me for a couple years to build one of these chairs, and I finally got one done. I think the plan came out of a Woodcraft magazine. I like the way it came out except it says it is only good for those under 200 pounds, so I can't even sit on the thing. I think it's going to be easier to beef up the plan than to get me under 200.  I got the plan for this little table out of Wood magazine. I was just tired of making cutting boards and wanted to do something different. Right at the end of the show a woman came along that said she really liked it and gave me $75 for it. I don't know if that's a good price or not, if I'm working by the hour probably not, but I know that wood was free, so I guess I'm on the good side of it again. Another woman liked it and said she may have her husband get her one for Christmas and wanted to know if I'd build her another one if this one sold, so maybe there'a another sale coming yet.
November 6, 201114 yr It's great that you came out ahead. I go to craft shows and the wife usually spends more than I make.Hey Roy, I made several of those chairs about 15 years ago. My slats were 3/4 by 5/8 and spaced about 3/8 apart, IIRC. All from red oak. Not quite as tall as yours as I didn't have a head rest. Didn't sell one! Gave them all away to family and friends. Chief complaint was that, when folded and nested, they were reeeely heavy.  Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K.
