November 6, 201114 yr Well yesterday was y first craft showing. I'll start by saying the general turnout was dismal at best. There were about 30 vendors in a grade school gymnasium. most of the ones near me didn't even cover their entrance fee. Some sold nothing I on the other hand returned my entry fee tenfold! and was asked to participate in another show on 11/12 and again on 11/19. both of these shows had been closed to accepting new vendors and are historically known to draw much larger crowds.Just when I thought I could relax for a week or two I'll be getting to burn the midnight oil again. Oh well things could be much worse.Â
November 6, 201114 yr Sorry the turnout was so poor, but glad you did well. Â What kind of products were you selling? Â What was your top seller? Congratulations on being invited back for the up and coming show. Â Â SQÂ It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing.
November 6, 201114 yr Congrats on your success when others didn't do as well. You must have some fine products and good luck in the future shows. Keep us informed.
November 6, 201114 yr Sounds like you had a decent show. Too bad about the turn out, though. You could have done even better. What sold the best? How about some pics of your next show? Gene 'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' November 6, 201114 yr Author I have some pics just need to get into the wifes phone to upload them.It was a fairly even mix of items priced in the $20-$25 range consisting of pizza peales, end grain cheese boards, and wooden spatulas.
November 7, 201114 yr Congratulations John, glad you had a good show. Now you will have a reason to stay in the shop and get more items ready. I did one Friday night and it was good also. I sold a bunch of cutting boards and a couple of pens. Now it is back to the shop and make more cutting boards. I can't seem to get ahead and that is a good problem. Anyway, glad you have a good start to it and look forward to the pictures of your setup. John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
