November 7, 201114 yr I haven't done a lot of scrolling. Mostly 1/4" BB for puzzles and 1/8" solid stuff for inlays. Now, I'm finding projects that's going to require scroll sawing 3/4" solid. What blade and tooth configuration do you folks recommend?  Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' November 7, 201114 yr I have been using Flying Dutchman #5 Scroll Reverse on 6/4 red oak and it makes a fine cut. Mike sampled me on a pair of #5 Ultra Reverse and I tried them on some 3/4 cherry and they too performed very well. Mikes Workshop The #1 place to buy blades from.. Give him a holler. Nice guy & ships fast. Not many vendors out there that only charge $3 for postage and handling either...
November 7, 201114 yr Yep I primarily use the FD 2 way cut blades, for 3/4" on up I will typically use a #5, If it is something that doesn't require a real tight tolerance use a #7. Alot of the thicker pieces I cut are compound cuts which need a thinner kerf. I have even cut up to 1" thick with a 3, but a 5 or 7 is really recommended Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
