November 8, 201114 yr Good morning Friends,Yesterday the weather was nice so I mowed for the last time this year and closed the discharge shoot and mulched everything that was mowed. As I mowed I noticed a cat coming from under the house from the scuttle to the crawl space that I will need to close. However I don't want to trap a cat in the crawl space to die for not being able to get out. What suggestions do you have for closing this opening without the chance of trapping a critter under the floor of the bed rooms?
November 8, 201114 yr Wait for the cat to come out. Shoot it. Close up the hole. Someone else will probably have a better solution, but it's just one idea.
November 8, 201114 yr Unfortunately, their may also be kittens under there that may be too young to venture out.Â
November 8, 201114 yr  If you can you could crawl under there and look for any other cats or kittens right before you seal it.  Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/

November 8, 201114 yr I bought a house in '74 that was condemned, full of trash and most of the windows missing. The place was full of wild cats, and I found a couple nests of babies. Even those babies were the meanest things you could imagine, hiss and claw as soon as you even began to get close to them. Eventually with me working around there all the cats disappeared, but the smell hung around awhile longer than they did. I got the place fixed up and ended up living there 35 years. And I do like animals, even cats. Right now we've just got George, and there's lots of cats bigger than he is, he's only 7.5 pounds. But whenever he sees me putting on my shoes or coat he's bouncing up and down wanting to go with me. He usually goes to the woodshop with me. He sits in one of the old stuffed chairs my dad had out there, and chews on a scrap of wood that he finds. Greg Aksdal said:  If you can you could crawl under there and look for any other cats or kittens right before you seal it.  Greg http://www.thesawdustfactory.net/

November 9, 201114 yr Author Good Morning All,Since I am an animal lover and as already stated that there may be some kittens under there I decided to put in one of those animal doors that close up after the animal goes in or out and since I have 6" of insulation up in between the floor joists held in place with chicken wire, I hardly ever close the vents anyway. This opening is one that I can get in under the crawl space when needed and I feel that with them being under there I won't have to worry about mice.Nice pictures of your pets and thanks for your support.
