November 16, 201114 yr Good Morning Friends,During the blizzard in 1978-79 the wind was so strong at 75 miles per hour that it trapped a lot of people on the highways and in their homes. After the worst was over and people starting to get around and the electric was back on my company started getting calls from folks who said their roofs were leaking. After getting into their attics we found that the wind had blown the show into the attics through the vents and piled it up all around the houses in the attics. How or what do you think the matter was taken care of to relieve the leaking ceilings?

November 16, 201114 yr Maybe add an extra baffle over the vents to help block out the snow but let the air in & out? Harry BrinkBulldog WoodworkingMontana
November 17, 201114 yr Author Good Morning Fellows,It was a surprise to everyone to find the show piled up in the attics and the only way to get it out was by using long handled shovels and remove the snow, insulation and all in 5 gallon buckets and then replace the insulation as needed. The local lumber company literally gave the insulation away to folks who couldn't afford to buy it then but, later paid for it down the road. They gained a lot of repeat customers as a result of their generosity. What a job it was to get those attics cleaned out and in some cases the drywall got replaced as well. Again the lumber company worked with those folks who didn't have the cash to pay for it as they got it, but again paid for it later in the year. Thanks for your support.
