November 19, 201114 yr Good Morning Friends,When you have an open area between the living room and the dining area and kitchen you will most likely finish the corners of the wall with metal beads and joint compound. How would you protect those corners when a little one is riding his/her tricycle around in the house and runs into the corners with the handle bars?
November 19, 201114 yr You must live in quite the party house Ralph. The first option is to not let anyone ride tricycles or bicycles inside the house.Option two would be to install plastic or wood corner gaurds. Option three would be to install bollards  Bollards are a last resort, most women find them unsightly and don't want them in their house.
November 20, 201114 yr Now that's funny Rick Ralph, I would say fill the inside of the bull nose with mud before applying, this will make the bullnose rock hard.Rick Mathison said: You must live in quite the party house Ralph. November 20, 201114 yr Author Good morning Fellows,I had a client who had me to turn 12 - 1 1/4" dowels 3' long and then cut an L out so they would fit around the corner edge so when his chair bound son would run into the corners with his wheel chair it would absorb the damage but protect the drywall corners. When the one on the corner got too much damage and would look bad he would just change it with a new piece of the trim and it looked nice again.
