December 3, 201114 yr Author Lookin good Charles! I like the beech, nice and smooth grain and very clean looking, sometimes grain can get to wild with these pens, yours looks wonderful sir.Charles Nicholls said:I have to of course obey doc's orders but i do have a few pens, hidden compartment key chains and ornaments to make & maybe a few perfume applicators to turn. currently in process of redoing a pen that i had previously made but was too "fat" for the kit it was being used on, but it seems i may have gone overboard on removing some wood on one piece. If that's the case, I'll simply turn it down to the tube, and remount another piece. Since it's Beech wood, there isn't much grain detail to have to worry about matching it up, as long as I get the pattern going the right direction, it's all good. Here's the front halfCharlesJohn MorrisThe Patriot Woodworker
December 4, 201114 yr Spatula Sets. Â This is a Steve Good pattern. Â I am making them in three different sizes to give out as a sets. Â These work better than anything for removing cookies from a cookie sheet. Â Made from maple, cut out on the scroll saw, shaped on the belt sander, and finish is the USP grade mineral oil and beeswax. Â These make excellent hostess gifts. Â SQÂ It it can't be fixed with glue and sawdust - it's not worth fixing.
