December 5, 201114 yr  Just a plank of wood. Still needs a lot of work to finish it up.    Wife AND Daughter are fighting over it.Those black marks are nails, still in the leg. Still a lot of smoothing out to do.   I did get rid of most of that white stuff ( glue squeeze out) AFTER this picture was taken. Still need to hand plane some details on the edges, just a bevel is all.   Just an old plank of wood..... December 6, 201114 yr That's got a lot of charm! Â Where did you get that old plank of wood?SQHappiness is wood chips flying!
December 6, 201114 yr Author Board(s) came from a very old garage/small barn that more or less fell apart.  There was four planks, averaging 13" wide, in the pile.  This one was the best of the four. The others had a lot of splits/rot/bugs.  I also have a few 4/6 beams a-drying in the shop as well.  SQ said: That's got a lot of charm!  Where did you get that old plank of wood? December 7, 201114 yr Author   Top is now attached.  FIRST coat of Ipswich Pine stain is on everything( including me) letting it dry for a while.   I have a light streak in that top (????) unknown where it came from. Some of the wood was just like a very dry sponge, other parts it just sat there. Know more after it has dried for awhile.   Freezing rain here tomorrow ( my day off) so I might not get to work out in the shop. Need to start mill parts for a Toy Box.   "raised panels" will be just some wellpicked out Luann plywood.   Top may have to be glued up here at the house.   I hate winters in Ohio 'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
