December 9, 201114 yr Can you believe how fast this years seem to have flown by. Here we are with only 16 days left till Christmas Day and it seems like we just had Christmas. Last year about this time, I picked up a WorkSharp 3000 when HD put them on sale on the website for a ridiculously low price. But here we are again in the hurry up season. I have orders for a few Christmas items I am trying to finish up this week and get shipped out. Four cutting boards and a shadow box left right now to get out before Christmas day.I have also been doing a bit of home improvement and have two more windows to replace. I ordered them from Lowe's and everything has been great until I went to put in the big window by the kitchen table. The windows was 2" bigger than the opening. Not sure if I gave them the wrong measurement or if they ordered the wrong size, but I ordered another one and it came in today. So I hope to get that changed out tomorrow as it is getting cold and I had already broken the seal around the old window. We also have a wet wall in a bedroom in the basement. I have a contractor coming to look at that. I just don't have the time or expertise to take on that right now. We noticed the paneling was wet and the carpet was also so it is time for someone to find out why after 20 years the basement has decided to leak.I have also got to get a little Christmas shopping done. Looks like another full weekend for meHow about you, what is on your Woodworking - Home Improvement - Honey Do list this weekend?John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com

December 9, 201114 yr I have all my stuff set out in the garage ready to load up Saturday morning for my last craft show for this year. So hopefully I will sell a lot so Momma gets more Christmas gift money (happy wife, happy life)I have nothing else Christmas Gift related, but I do have some projects for church that they want me to make which I will be talking to the Small Groups Pastor at church about on Sunday. They want a number of large custom sized frames to mount on the walls in the main hallway to put up posters and flyers of sermon series and ministry outreach stuff from month to month. They also want 4-5 backless benches about 4'-5' long for the foyer and hallway. The frames I can handle fine, but the benches may not be cost efficient for me to build as opposed to them buying them once I figure out the cost for production. There is also another person who is looking to have me make a display case for her husbands "challenge coins". We chatted by email and phone today so she will let me know on Sunday what she wants to do or not do.. Then I have the never ending list of "House and Home" projects that need to be done and that I want to get done, but we will see what happens with those. I have bookcase cabinet doors that I have been putting off making for the past 3 years and I would really like to get them done.I also have a bunch of picture frames to make that I was planning on starting after Christmas "Last Year" which haven't been done.Allen WorshamCorona, CAallenworsham@earthlink.nethttp://www.awcreationsandwoodcrafts.com'Graze in every man's field, but always give your own milk' J. If I get 2/3's of it done by Sun. night I'll be happy Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
December 10, 201114 yr  I have been busy making toys for Santa's anoymous & for my son's new girl friends kids, it seems pretty serious so I might be a grandpa soon.LOL anyway here is a piggy bank I am making for the little girl, I still need to do the finishing & paint & there is a piece of plexi-glass that goes over the hole in the front. There is a door in the back w/a lock. The boy is getting a mail truck piggy bank, it's just about ready to put together.
December 10, 201114 yr Got a lot to do I think. Got the garage/ shop clean up again. Move 2 tools around to make a little more room. Unpack the new table saw. Got parts scatter all over the workbench right now. Got the mobile base put together and the table saw mounted on it. Tomorrow I'll start putting the rest of the saw together. Sometime tomorrow I'll see about getting the plug for converting it to 110 volt. The saw is wired for 220. Then I'll see what else I'm going to need to do. From looks of it, I'll have to cut the legs on my workbench. It looks like it might be about 1" taller than the saw. I'm using it as out feed table also. Wayne E.
December 10, 201114 yr Just rough cut all the parts for a jewelry box for my grand daughter. Hoping to get it fitted tomorrow. I have three more Jewelry boxes to go for orders. I have orders for 2 baby's first Christmas ornaments and a few other gifts to finish up. Hopefully in the next week I will get to put a tree up here. Ron said it right, no rest for the weary but I surely am not complaining.Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.

December 10, 201114 yr Author Sounds like you are busy but isn't it fun unpacking and putting together a new tool in the shop. I had to adjust my workbench when I got the Unisaw. I use mine as out feed for long stock and it was about 1" to tall also. Get us some pictures as soon as you have it ready. Can't wait to see it in place.Wayne Ellington said: Got a lot to do I think. December 11, 201114 yr Thanks John.Isn't amazing when your rushing through orders you tend to make a minor mistake that creates a wealth of problems? I set my jib 1/16th" off and all new rails and styles. Gotta love it man. Wayne MahlerGod bless and protect our troops that serve so we can be free.
