GOT THE BIG BOY PUT TOGETHER

Not sure what happens to this post it did not post when I hit add.  Did finally got the Grizzly table saw assembled today.  Had to re-align the table wings twice and the front rail to get the fence to work smoothly.  Even at that still had to adjust the fence slightly. 2 table insert came with the saw along with an push stick.  One insert is dado insert.  .  And I had order an zero clearance insert so I'm set.  Think I'm go to like the riving knife better than the old splitter.   Guess I'll have to get an electrician to run me a dedicated wall plug for the saw.  The amps for even 110 volts is 16 amps.  I won't be able to run heater or shop vac while use the saw without tripping breakers.  I did not realize that until reading the electrical part again this afternoon.  Enjoy the picture of my new toy

Congrats Wayne! I put the photos up for you. For future reference you can post the pics by clicking on the photo icon in your tool bar. What folks do is click on the "Upload Files" and all that does is give us a file. Here is a tutorial on posting pics in a discussion.  UPLOADING PHOTOS TO A DISCUSSION

Your saw looks great Wayne, I love that Green and White combination. Your saw will be a good one and will serve you well. I am sorry your not able to fire it up right away, but your doing the right thing, getting a dedicated breaker to wire it. That's the only way to go. Not only is the right way to do it, but your able to flip the breaker to off if your ever working on your saw or changing blades out. And you can have the breaker flipped without effecting other machinery or outlets. Congrats again Wayne, now enjoy!!

Wayne congrats on the new saw, it"s a beauty. Since your gonna have an electrician run a dedicated circuit why not have him make it a 220V circuit or better yet have him put in a sub panel which will give you some expandability. Also If you are the homeowner you can do the work yourself and have an electrician look over your install before getting it inspected. That's what I did in my garage and I'm glad I did. It allowed me to run several 110V circuits around the garage and I also ran 2ea. 220v circuits, 1 for my shop heater and one for my cabinet saw.

Thank you kind sir.  The more I think about it I'll leave the saw pre-wired to 220 volts. That way I'll have dedicated outlet and breaker for the saw.  Since I'm at it, I'll add another 110 volt outlet for my other tools.  Being this close to Christmas, I'll may wait till after Christmas to get the wiring done.  I got some time off (about 7 days) from my day/night job after the holidays.  May even attempt part of it myself and bribe my brother-in law to do the wiring part at the house breaker box.

Thanks

That is a thought on the sub panel.  Not sure how to do that on the wiring to existing house.  Right now I have 5 blank spaces on the house breaker box.  If my little electrical knowledge I have tells me, for 220 volts I'll use 2 spaces and for 110 volts I'll use one space.  I'm no hurry and can wait till after Christmas to get the electrical done.

Thanks

Wayne, 220 would be the most preferred, the machinery runs more efficient on 220, or so I am told, I don't pretend to be an electrical whiz by any stretch of the imagination. But if a machine comes wired a certain way, best to keep it that way. Good call.

Wayne, congratulations on getting it out of the box and introducing it to the new environment. That will serve you well.

I agree with the others, if you can get the electrician to set it up for 220 it would be better. I put in a 220 circuit for my table saw and the planer when I got them. They will pull about half the amps at 220 than they will at 110.

I know you are ready to get it fired up. Let us know how it goes.
