I Need A Sawmill

Featured Replies

Me and my buddy John Moody were talking the other day about knowing folks with mills and when the time presents itself, sometimes it pays to have those connections. While out on the job me and my partner pulled into a park to eat our lunch. In the park they were cutting down 100 plus year old Eucalyptus to make room for improvements. I was dreaming of the possibilities with these slabs that could come out of this tree. No doubt destined to be firewood. Eucalyptus makes some of the prettiest furnishings. I would love to have slabbed this guy out for a couple chairs in the future. These are about 5 feet in diameter and 8 to 9 feet long.

Charles, Euc is very under rated as a wood for nice furnishings. It is cut down all over the country and destined for firewood, but man is it gorgeous. It is common to find lace and curl in Euc and it is a very hard wood, that will last many lifetimes in a piece.

That would pretty much be my dream, to own a sawmill.

That wood has a lot of great color to it.
