December 20, 201114 yr comment_36406  Now that the computer is back on-line again, maybe I can post a few pictures about this little Toy Box. sanded down, handplaned down, and stained to what the customer wanted. Sorry Ralph, no bread board edges this time. A look inside this little box: Nice old oak grain.  A "detail" of the corner joints. And, a look at that top:Just five old boards, glued up into a panel. All that is left, is to varnish this box, and deliver it Saturday. 'and may the road raise up to meet ye' Report
December 21, 201114 yr comment_36413 Very cool toy box Steve. Nice rescue of the old lumber. You saved it from the landfil and made an heirloom with it. Nice corner detail. That should be a strong joint for years to come.John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com Report

December 21, 201114 yr Author comment_36410 On this little box: Spokeshave, block plane, #4 smoother, 1/4" chisel, small hammer w/ nail set.  Block plane also rounded over the top's edges. Also a collection of old "C" clamps.  Just the Basic set of tools....John Morris said: Steve, name off the hand tools you used please! December 22, 201114 yr Author comment_36408 Two coats of varnish now in place:Steel wool between the coats, will be rubbing this down in a little bit.As for that "plank Table", It also got two coats. This is the "Other Half's" present, the Toy Box is headed to a friend of ours( who also owned that old garage where this wood came from), and a Blanket Chest is sitting in my basement, Daughter's present.   Been a busy Little Elf this year 'and may the road raise up to meet ye' Report
