Oak Blanket chest

Featured Replies

here is a pic of a blanket chest I completed just in time to deliver on Christmas eve. I'm sure it made a little ones Christmas joyous. The legs and rails are of QSRO with plywood top and inset panels to reduce weight and add stregth.  ning-1221010635a-36189-9.jpg?width=750

John,

Great design!  I like your choice of joinery.  Very attractive.

Happiness is wood chips flying!

Nice job John! Is the gap at the top between the lid and the case to prevent squishing lil fingers?

Very nice design John. I like the safety gap at the top. Not only does it protect fingers, but in case they climb in it doesn't seal up, they can still see out and get air.

Nice job and the QSWO looks very good.

John answred your question John.

The rails are down 1" so the only chance for a pinch is at the corners. I also inclued lid stays to reduce this but as we all know given a chance to hurt ourselves and we will.
