Looking for apps to add to your iPhone or iPad related to your woodworking?

I just put one on my iPad called Woodshop. It is available through iTunes. It was featured in "This Old House" Best new Home Products of 2011.

It has a board foot calculator that will of course do the calculation and let you add the price per bd ft with a quantity and get the price.

A compare feature lets you compare two woods to see the specific gravity, hardness, shrinkage. So if  you are planning a project, you can look at the difference in the two woods.

A Decimal to Fraction converter. You can convert from fractions to decimal or from decimal to fraction.

Figure the movement of wood species but the type of cut. So you can compare how much movement there would be if it were flat cut, rift cut or quarter sawn.

Information on hundreds of species are included which has the names, shrinkage, density and hardness for each one listed.

You can figure Shellac cuts. It will give you the amount of Alcohol to mix for a desired pound cut you need.

A squareness calculator so you can see by degrees how much you might be off or how much your square is off.

So if you are looking for a software tool to add to the iPhone or iPad, this is one to download. The cost is 3.99. The version out right now is for the iPhone, but works on the iPad just fine, however they are coming out with a native iPad version and the upgrade will be free.

Let me know if you have found an app out there that you would like to share with us.

Thanks John! I just got it. There are some other apps for woodworkers as well that work pretty good. "AMBICALC"  & "AMBISAW" which allows you to lay out pieces on sheet goods and it can arrange them for the best cutting schedule. Another on is called "PHOTO MEASURES" by Big Blue Pixel. You take a picture of a room or object and it allows you to add dimensions to the room or object you've photographed and then you can print the pic with the dimensions. This comes in really handy if you have a blue-tooth capable printer

That is pretty cool John, I'll have to load it up on my kids new Ipod Touch devices they got for Christmas! I knew I got those for them for a reason!
