January 1, 201214 yr I'm in the process of building a 3D cutting board. I have the stock machined to 24" lengths and will be gluing up 3 sticks at a time and I have to be careful to only apply glue to two sides of each stick and this will eat up open clamp time. For the cutting boards I've made in the past I've used Titebond III and that works very well but with this new board I have purchased Titebond EXTEND that's supposed to have a longer open time. Have any of you used this product and is it suitable for cutting boards?
January 1, 201214 yr I have never used it Mike. Sounds like what you need though.John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
January 1, 201214 yr Mike, I use Titebond III for my rockers. I need a long open time to get the joints just right. I would think Titebond Extend would leave you plenty of open time for this application. As far as for cutting boards the stuff is bullet proof when it comes to moisture, yes, use it!John MorrisThe Patriot Woodworker
January 1, 201214 yr Mike,I'm not familiar with that glue either. Â Some projects would definately benefit from a longer open time. Â Will have to investigate this glue. Â Thanks for mentioning it.SQHappiness is wood chips flying!
