Help needed in identifying a tree

Featured Replies

I have a tree that is coming down soon, and I need to identify the species.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...  It is in Pasadena, Ca and is definitely not native.

that's a leaf I've never sen before. Have you considered taking a leaf, branch, and picture of the full tree to an arborist, nursery or landscaper? One of these should be able to assist you with Identifying it.

I got a reply on facebook that it is a silk oak or Australian silver oak.  It is on the south side of Pasadena.  The guy is going to remove them in the next couple of months...

Do a Google image search on the Australian silver oak and the leaves do not look anything like that, unless your picture was taken during leave development.

It looks like it could be a variety of this species.  Any ideas????

Take a sample of it over to the L. A. Arboretum. It's not too far from you. I'm sure they will identify it for you and give you lots of info.
