January 8, 201214 yr Very nice I like the wood combinations and arrangement of the rings. You do such nice work!
January 8, 201214 yr Author Mike, Thank you.  You are very kind. I still have a lot to learn about turning. I actually increased the ring width from 18 mm to 22 mm which gives me more wood for contouring.  This extra weight is holding well on the face plate.   I just ordered  two more inboard face plates.  Sometimes it's nice to step away from a project and work on something else.  Having just one six inch face plate hasn't allowed me that luxury. With three face plates, I can jump from project to project.   I can't wait for them arrive. SQ Happiness is wood chips flying!
January 8, 201214 yr WOW, that is awesome. I love the contrast of the different wood. The different direction gives it a lot of unique character. Excellent job and a very nice soft finish. John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com

February 12, 201214 yr Author John, That is a fantastic book. Â The second page to the last has the cutting angles chart which makes the rings stack neatly on top of each other. Â That cutting angle chart be itself was worth the price of the book and all the other great information was just an added bonus. The bowls depicted in the book are small, but easy to super size. Â Â Â Â SQ Happiness is wood chips flying!
