A lot of us with smaller shops don't have the space or need to invest in a larger dust collection system. Some of us a simple 20" box fan with a furnace filter taped to it, myself included. I saw a write up in one of the scroll saw magazines I read then recieved an email about this item called the filterafan. Basically it is a plastic frame that snaps onto the popular brands of box fans and the you just slide in a 16" filter, which makes for easy filter change out. The thing I like about using the box fan is the portability of it.

I use a couple of box fans with furnace filters attached for when I am spraying finish or bringing in ventilation air from the side door. I saw these and they are a cool idea. But for $25 I can buy a lot of duct tape to hold those filters on

I seen this one not too long ago some where.  May be in a magazine.  For years I done the box fan in my shop.  Did find that it sometimes gets in my way.  Now have most everything that makes dust or shaving hook up to shop vac.  It not total dust proof but it helps.

I was at a guys shop the other day and he had a box fan with the filter in a sleeve that came with the fan.  He hung it upside down from the ceiling so he could access the controls.  Ebay has some of these fans.  I am going to try and find one to try it out.  I don't think they are expensive, but they are really neat.
