January 14, 201214 yr Here's a few things I've gotten done lately. Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
January 14, 201214 yr Author I sold a bunch of the pet angels at the last 2 shows I did before Christmas. One of my wife's Avon customers is a pet groomer and is going to put some in her shop and see how they do. The hardest thing about them is cutting the dogs ears. Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/

January 15, 201214 yr Author Actually John, this is stuff I've done in the last 3 or 4 weeks, actually I've been kind of lazy lately, but we all need to take a break and catch our breath once in a while.John Moody said:Way to go Greg, You are a busy woodworker and making some very nice items as usual. Thanks for posting.John MoodyJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com
January 15, 201214 yr Author Wayne, the patterns for these call for 3/4" thick by 1 1/2" wide by 2 1/2" long for the cat and 2 3/4" long for the dog. So they come out about 2 1/2" tall. The wings are approx. 3/4"x1", and the halos are approx. 11/16 on the outside. as far as wood goes the wings and halos are made from 1/8 plywood, mostly baltic birch, but some I have done with whatever scraps needed using up. The ears on the dogs are cut seperatly and use 3/4" square by 1" blanks. Â The bodies I have used pine, red oak, walnut, some reclaimed white oak from old barns, mahogany, pretty much whatever you want to use for different colored bodies. I just got my hands on some teak and cocobolo free so we'll see what that looks like. If you just want to use pine, simple 1x2 material will work fine for the bodies and ears.Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
January 15, 201214 yr Greggot it. Pine I still have tons of that. Have some walnut and cherry just not sure from top of my head I got any 3/4" thick. If not might be able to glue couple of pieces together.thanksWayne EWayne E
January 15, 201214 yr i have all these myself, Diana gets a lot of my business for her wonderful patterns. the angels sold pretty well and soon I'll have the dogs nd cats and well all teh rest you are showing there out for sell in the various stores that have my things as well as my shows. I think they will be a major hit this year.
January 15, 201214 yr Author Joe, if you don't mind how much are you going to ask for the dogs and cats? Â we'd love to see some pictures too.Greghttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
January 15, 201214 yr 10 I think. thats what i do the bird houses for and they do very well at that.  one of the places that sells them for 16 of the birdhouses ar 12 each in 2 weeks, so they will be the same there and other than the ears I think its an easier cut.
January 15, 201214 yr Very cool Greg. Busy indeed. Greg, I know you've said it before, but can you freshen us up on the equipment you use?? Thanks.John MorrisThe Patriot Woodworker
