February 20, 201214 yr  I had some time in the shop as I said, and I was able to do a ton of sanding and finally get to the arms yesterday. I did not get the back braces glued up as I hope, I will probably get there today. The below photos show the arm to rear leg transition, it is still very rough, you can see uneven lines etc, this is just the beginning. I shaped the arm transitions using a right angle grinder with a 60 grit disk attached, followed up by a variety of files, and then smoothed it up with my ROS with 80 grit attached. You'll see the concave portion of the layout is not completely circular, the thing about these chairs is you don't see this until you put some accent lines as I did on the rear of this arm by chamfering the top rear of the arm, the chamfer tells the whole story, so I need to go back and shape a more circular concave in the rear of the arm so when I do spoke shave that chamfer back into it, it will show a nice clean circular defined line.  The next pic is the unshaped arm, I was out late lastnight shaping the arms up and I'll post those pics up later today. I put up a pic of a finished arm on my last chair so you can see how it is supposed to look.  Shot of last chair I built showing how arm will look after I shape it. Thanks for looking and I'll get some more shots up today I hope!!!! We are coming down the home stretch!
