February 27, 201214 yr I got G0555P 14" 1 HP Bandsaw, Polar Bear Series which I ordered in January and I did not realized it was a 2 speed until I started assembling it. It appears to be set on the low speed. To change it to higher speed I'll have to loosen the motor and slide it enough to move the belt. Question I have is which speed would I need to leave it on for most cutting.   I'm not really liking the idea of changing it every time I want to use it. Right now my main use would be for re-saw. Any opinion is greatly appreciated. Wayne E Wayne E
February 27, 201214 yr Of course the thickness (width? height?) of the cut will determine the optimum speed. Start it at the slow speed and see what it does on a piece that is the height you anticipate cutting. Is it variable, or just two speeds?Gene'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.'
