March 1, 201214 yr comment_33097  Since i was out at the Barn tonight, i thought I'd try out this new Craftsman Router i bought.    The great news?  It will take P-C bushings!   NOW I can use my P-C dovetail jig!  This router also has an electronic soft start, with variable speeds.   A three LED work light as well.   The "kit" I bought has both a fixed base, and a plunge base.  A looksee:Sitting ON the dovetail jig.  This thing is almost all metal! More eye candy? The plunge base, just sittingon my mitersaw.  How did it do on the jig?Been so long since I ran anything on this jig.  This is just slapping two boards into the jig, and firing up the router.  Wood is white oak.  Had to hammer it home, they were a little tight. The "downside"?   You have to take the motor out of whichever base you have it in, to change bits.   The dust collection "port" is a mite small.  Still, not bad for $147 out the door. One last look:This is the fine tuner for the depth settings.   Seems to work alright.
