March 18, 201214 yr This is my first attempt at fret work. It's from a free pattern from Steve Good at www.scrollsawworkshop.com This was a lot of fun but a little tedious. It's a Potpourri Box made from walnut & hard maple. The lid is attached with rare earth magnets. Thanks for viewing!
March 18, 201214 yr WOW Mike!!!!! That turned out absolutely beautiful! Nice work and your first one? You gotta be kidding. Now, the finish, what are you going to use?

March 18, 201214 yr Author Thank you Larry! I think I've built more projects in the short period of time that I've owned my scroll saw than any tool I've owned for that time frame. It's absolutely addictive and I'm having a ball.
March 18, 201214 yr MikeWhat a wonderful piece of work. Love the maple walnut combo. No greater Loves than God, Family, Friends, country, the sight of flying chips and the smell of saw dust.
March 18, 201214 yr Author Thank you Charles & Russel. I am rather pleased with the combination. The magnets are held in place with 5 minute epoxy. I've never had them pop out.
March 18, 201214 yr Wow just posted on your other post about seeing the finished piece, and here it is. Absolutely beautiful. No greater Loves than God, Family, Friends, country, the sight of flying chips and the smell of saw dust.
March 19, 201214 yr Mike, this looks great all the way around. I made a box a couple years ago using the rare earth magnets like this one, they are great to use as a catch. GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
