March 18, 201214 yr  I started on a quest for a plane last week.   Shut out of the bidding wars twice.   Looking around at local stores.   a few questions/options seem to come up:  Do I:  Play on ebay and hope to win a plane?     Price of plane+ shipping+ parts to restore Antique store route?   Overpriced+ gas money+ dinner for the "Better Half" Buy New?    With in budget? + Gas money + Dinner out (again) Buy from a friend?  Price + shipping     Parts would depend on condition of plane  Looking to find a Stanley #5 ( or similar sized) Jack plane.     Don't mind a lot of restore, IF I have the stuff on hand.  Taking the "Boss" out to dinner, well, that is just the cost of doing Business, I guess.   Home Depot does have a Buck Brothers 14" jack plane (@ $34) but seems a little expen$ive.   Might have to go out to the Shop and think about this for awhile, sawdust seems to help the Brain cells. Just put in an extra 12 hour day ( OVERTIME!!!) so I might have a few extra pennies to go with. 'and may the road raise up to meet ye' 'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
