March 19, 201214 yr I hope everybody had a great St. Patrick's weekend. Here in my neck of the woods (Savannah, Ga. area) we have the largest celebration in the south and one of the largest in the nation. Did anybody work on any great projects over the weekend? Mike Dillen made a beautiful potpourri box, if you haven't seen his post about it, check it out My first fret work. I got quite a bit done on Sun. I glued the wings and ears on a batch of pet angels, still need to put halos on them , but I need to cut them first !!! And finished up a few mini birdhouses, And glued a few more patterns up, the bodies and wings for some butterfly ornaments, some halos for the pet angels, and a sign for a customers BBQ catering business, I told him I would just trade it for food And for John Moody, our budding scroll saw bowl maker, here's a video to enjoy. BTW John did you make any progress on your second bowl? Have a great week everybody Greg Scroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/

March 19, 201214 yr Author Charles, these are all made from pine, actually I just use a regular old 2x4 and then stain them with various stains. The one your asking about is finished with Watco golden oak danish oil. Once the stain is dry I usually spray them with Krylon triple thick acrylic. Charles Nicholls said: beautiful pieces Greg. In the second picture, the wood seems to have a brushed appearance, is there something you did to make that happen or is that just light distortion? Also in the second picture, what wood is that gold looking birdhouse? bottom right. March 21, 201214 yr Author I've always loved the picture with the dogs, your interpretation looks fantastic. Mine are actually Diana Thompson's pet angels. I gave them a dip this morning, nope not a flea dip  a danish oil dip, so they're ready Fred Wilson said: Greg - are those flying pigs ? ? ? ? ? ? ?  I'm sure y'all have seen the Dogs Playing Pool picture.  Here is my interpretation of same.  Fredaka Pop's Shopwww.pops-shop.comEX-21'Don't complain about the storm - learn to dance in the rain.'
