March 28, 201214 yr I bought an 8 pack of speed clamps, spring clamps, and gripper clamps for 29.99 at Home Depot. I went there to buy 4 small speed clamps, they cost 16 bucks a pop. 16 x 4 = 64 dollars for 4 little speed clamps.I saw on the shelf below an 8 pack2 midsize Speed Clamps2 small Speed Clamps2 spring clamps2 pressure clampsall for 29.99.I came away for once feeling like I got a great deal.Just a heads up if you got an HD nearby!John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Our Troops

March 28, 201214 yr Makes me wish there was a HD closer than 50 miles away. Lowe's has a 4 pack of 6" quick grips right now for $19.95 if you look around the store enough to find where they go the display hidden . I need some longer ones. Got some longer HF ones  but I can exert more pressure with my fingers than they do GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
March 29, 201214 yr Thanks John for posting. I picked up some last night before work for $25.90 after the Military discount. I use the speed clamps more than any clamps that I own. When clamping with the speed clamps you have to pay close attention to alignment because the jaws aren't exactly parallel to each other and you can get a little movement. The gripper clamps are great for small boxes and delicate clamping jobs that don't require a lot of clamping pressure.

March 29, 201214 yr Author I looked at the HF clamps Greg and I was very weary of their holding power.Greg Aksdal said: Makes me wish there was a HD closer than 50 miles away. March 29, 201214 yr Author Alrigth Mike!!!! These are the first speed clamps I have ever owned, and I love them. They are truly like a second set of hands. I can hold a piece in place with one hand and clamp with the other very easily. Mike Dillen said:Thanks John for posting.
