March 28, 201214 yr  I got tired of tripping over a couple beams by the tablesaw, so decided to cut them up into SOMETHING.   I thought about resawing them into parts for a new computer desk.    Got some legs cut out of one beam:UGLY legs, look worse than mine.   So much for that idea. I know, maybe a workbench??? Cut some more parts for a trestle framed bench:These are FOUR BY SIX inch beams!!!   I think about a quarter of their weight is in nails!    Not much will get dressed down on these, other than some joinery.    I do have some smaller stuff, for a frame to hold the top.Mainly 2x stuff.    As for that computer desk?   Well, there is a top, awaiting glue and clamps...Four pieces of some sort of hardwood.  When it does get glued up, i can use a plane or two to smooth things out.    Just a little time in the shop.....
