March 29, 201214 yr It seems that my keyboard issues are working themselves out a bit so that I can be typing more. so I'll be around. Anyway, as some of you may remember, I did a turning of an egg made of Cedar, and it turned out pretty well for something i was just goofing off with especially for the first one. Well a couple of hours ago, my aid and i got into a conversation about it just as I picked up this piece of wood from my scrap pile. Since it was partly shaped like a cross between a large end of a goose egg and the head of a rocket propelled grenade, I decided to give it the rest of the egg look, Crack and all.                            I still need to finish it but looking great so far. Total cost oh probably $1-$3 for that piece of wood at the most, since it was a piece of maple off a much larger piece costing me about $20 on eBay not long ago. Eventually I may start selling these if I find a market for them and once I get my egg crafting technique down a bit better On this last image my beloved 4 legged helper decided to try to push his way into the picture. I'll get a finish on this in the next few days and post the results. Thanks for looking! March 29, 201214 yr Hey Charles did you know your egg is cracked . It gives it it's own personality. Some times a flaw in wood becomes a focal point and sets it apart in a good way. GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactory.net/
