March 29, 201214 yr  Went a-walkin' today.   One thrift store was closed for the day, drat.   Trade-n-Post was open though.   Looked at five wood handled saws ( I'll go back next payday and get) for $2 each.  On the bottom shelf below these saws?    An 18" Craftsman Scroll saw.     All metal one ( means HEAVY) too.   Did NOT see a price tag on it.     Around the corner in that room ( he has three rooms) on the floor, was a "special".    A Craftsman Miter BOX, with TWO handsaws to use in it!!  A BIG LONG saw, and a shorty 12" saw.  Price? $10.....  Went around the block to Poplar street Thrift store & Emporium and took a look around, DOWNSTAIRS.   A couple so-so handsaws, a plastic handled one also.  In the plastic tub on the floor were the GOODIES! A Disston skew back, with etch, @ $2.     A Stanley #26 @$30.     A wood bodied plane with a skewed iron that went out both sides, @ $20 ( about 1-1/2' wide iron, maybe wider) TWO hand braces ( Old style cordless drills, for the power cord guys) . Two wood handled hacksaws, although they COULD be "meat" saws.  @ $2 ea.   On the way back home, stopped in at ACE Hardware store.    Looked at the 'replacement" handle they had hanging on the wall. ( @ $4.95+ tax)  and happened to see a small plastic bag hanging below.   About a dozen, or so, SAWNUTS!  For the Princely sum of $1.50, no less!  I just may go back there....  Always pays to scout out the stuff, beforehand.  Won't be long before a few saws get posted on Fleebay now...... March 30, 201214 yr Author  To top it off, there is a second Hardware store just around the corner from me, a DIY store at that.   The thrift shop that was closed, does have some strange hours.  Never opens before 10 am.  She does have a few handsaws, and some other handtools.  The Trade-n-Post does have a bunch of electric tools as well.    I counted seven Sabresaws on one shelf!  Cordless drills all over the place.  Couldn't see a price tag on that scrollsaw, though. Maybe Ron D. should make a trip across the border to Ohio?    Note: Fridays is ALL YOU CAN EAT FISH at Clancy's.   'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
