Just a follow up of the Accu Head

Featured Replies

I'll get a review out in the next week folks, but I just wanted to boast a little.

This was by far the best investment I have done in years for our shop.

1. Noise is greatly reduced "No Load"

2. Noise is greatly reduced "Under Load"

I cannot believe how quiet my DeWalt 735 is now. This planer used to howl when I'd fire it up. Not now, you can barely hear it outdoors with my shop closed up. And even with one shop door open, it's no louder then a sander from outside.

I am jazzed, and my wife and kids are jazzed too. No more noise telegraphing through the walls of the garage to the home like it did before.

The cut, I have not sat down and trouble shooted the ridges yet. But I know once I take the time and reset the cutters that need it, it'll work fine, the ridges are barely visible, but I am expecting perfection in the cut so I just need to sit down and follow the steps in the trouble shooting section. I'll do that before I do the write up.

Thanks for hearing my bragging!

Sounds like a quieter, more efficient machine, that combined with a happier family. Wow John that is the best of both worlds.Grin.gif

No greater Loves than God, Family, Friends, country, the sight of flying chips and the smell of saw dust.

Sounds like a winner, John.

It'll be interesting to find the culprit cutters.

John - tell us more about this "Accu Head".  Besides quieting the planer down, what else does it do, where can I see one, etc, etc, etc.

Fred, follow the link to view the exact one I got. Sorry for being so vague in my OP. The accuhead is a helical planer head for a surface planer.

Here is the LINK
