April 7, 201214 yr you reach for the square and set it up on your assembled and glued up carcass with about 10 little cubby holes and it's all square!!!! You scratch your head and say to yourself, now how the hockey sticks did that happen! Each little cubby is square to the carcass, the carcass is square to itself and on down the line. Sometimes I amaze myself Just goes to show, when you take care to make sure all boards are planed to equal thickness, and all boards are squared up at the bench, and all the joinery cut into the pre-assemble are squared up perfectly, the rest just falls into place. It's like building the foundation on a home. If the foundation is level, the home follows suit. John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Our Troops
April 7, 201214 yr Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then. But for posterity sake take a photo, print it out, frame it and hang it on the shop wall so you will always have proof that you did a correct glue up once.
