April 9, 201214 yr  I have a Mystery on my hands here.   A No-Name saw.   Haven't found an etch on the plate.  Bolts are a domed type. Handle "style" does NOT match anything I've seen from Henry Disston's bunch.  Blade is at least a 1/2" LONGER than my other saws.  That "Walnut" colour is just that.  Someone stained it that colour.    Wood itself is a lot lighter in colour, Apple, maybe? A longer look at this 8 pointer:It IS a skew back saw blade. The stamps on the handle are "user" applied.  Brass Medallion is a Warrented Superior, with a BIG eagle.  The two center bolts are "steel" coloured, top one has a brass "nut" on the other side. Same on the medallion. Compare a few sizes:Shorty ( by Bishop) is in front with it's 20" blade, behind it is the Highway saw ( by Atkins) and behind it is the No-Name saw.  I can't find out anything else about this saw, but, I DO like the handle.   Fits my hand like a glove..... April 9, 201214 yr Warrented Superior saws were made by Disston and Sons. They were a less expensive saw than the normal line. I own a few and have no complaints.Adam WelkerRed Car Construction and Fine Woodworking
April 9, 201214 yr Author  The medallion MAYBE an add-on, doesn't match the sawnuts.  I may have a Franckensaw here.  Them teeth are very good as is, will need very little work to sharpen. LOVE that handle.  'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
April 10, 201214 yr Author  Getting a bit closer to naming this saw:   Disston Warrented Superior No.7 ????? About 1890, or so????  And a whole $2 ..... 'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
April 10, 201214 yr Author  Just looked up the No. 76 by Disston, same bolt patterns,  Top of handle different, maybe because mine is a Warrented Superior brand? 'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
