Flowers

Featured Replies

These are the wooden flowers I have been working on. The flowers are Yellow Hart and Purple Hart. The stems and leaves are Poplar, that is why I asked the forum about how Poplar ages. The wood has a light green hew to it, with some darker strips in it. It is about 13 x 16 and my wife already has it hanging on the wall.  I had no plans, just ideas and this is the result. When I cut out the two colored flowers, I used the scrap to make the solid ones. It is dimensional, as it has 2 layers, some pedals are on top of others.ning-woodflowerssm-30654-97.jpg

Very nice, Ron.

Looks great Ron. The poplar will turn dark with age to a brownish color. The green will go deep brown eventually. Really like this project.

That's really nice Ron. I like it and may have to use your idea to dress up a patio wall. Thanks for posting!

Great job!  Very creative.  Love your choice of purple heart and yellow heart.

Happiness is wood chips flying!

Ron those are absolutely beautiful man. I Love the colors and the back, the frame, that would look good on any wall and in any home. When that poplar ages, I think it will look really nice. You'll see.
