April 23, 201214 yr I took about 600 bf of QSWO to the mill in October to have it kiln dried. Should have been ready to pick up the end of January. I couldn't get in touch with anyone at the mill through February, so the first of March I took off and made the trip back up there. I did find the place still occupied and they told me they didn't put it in the kiln until in February since they didn't have a full load until then. I have a big job that was suppose to be delivered the first of April. As you see, I didn't make the deadline. The lumber was to be ready by the first of April so last week I was calling everyday and it was going to voice mail until I got the message the mail box was full.My thoughts were things had gotten bad and they had closed up and I had lost my lumber. I spoke with the customer I was suppose to deliver to Friday evening and they were okay with it taking longer. This morning I got a call at 7:00 that my lumber was out of the kiln and that I could pick it up tomorrow!!It looks like a road trip tomorrow and then the shop is going to be busy. There may be overtime in the shop now to get this order out.Just glad I got the call and didn't lose a load of lumber. It makes Monday feel better already.John MoodySite AdministratorJohn Moody Woodworkshttp://www.johnmoodywoodworks.com

April 23, 201214 yr Sounds good John. I would think because of the delay and the lack of communication there should be a discount for the drying.
April 23, 201214 yr Author I am thinking the same thing Mike. I don't know how that is going to work out, but I am sure pushing for it.Mike Dillen said:Sounds good John. I would think because of the delay and the lack of communication there should be a discount for the drying.
April 23, 201214 yr Glad to hear they didn't "lose" your wood, and a discount is definitely in order. GregScroll Saw forum hosthttp://www.thesawdustfactoryga.com/
