April 23, 201214 yr  Is made by a WS & M Co..   A big toothed RIP saw.   In an earlier life, someone tried a "re-hab" and messed things up. Handle was redrilled, badly, teeth were 'sharpened' ( BIG TEETH)  and the saw plate was altered.    project: Turn this saw around.  needs a new handle made:I had JUST enough sycamore 1" thick stock to lay out a handle.  The "Prototype' is ugly, though.  We'll see IF we can do better.    Took the pattern out to my High Tech bench ( Back porch rail) and clamped the blank in place.    My $14 Tool Shop Sabresaw cut the new handle out in about , oh ten minutes, maybe.   Next step?  Take the handle out to the shop.  A 1/2' round-over bit in my router table is awaiting it.    I'll use that snaggle toothed blade to cut a kerf, to install it in the handle.  Just laying there, right now.  As for that blade, seems someone did a bad job of cutting things downand those holes are more like slots.   I intend to grind off that "spur" until i have a nice straight line.  When the new handle goes on, the new holes will be a little further in.   Saw is a bit pittied, but i think it will work out alright Finish?    light stain & varnish?  Or, dark stain & varnish?    Hmmmm? 'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
April 24, 201214 yr Author Maybe if i get out to the shop ( tonight or tomorrow) I can shape the handle down.    I'll leave them big old teeth alone for now, with just a sharpening.  'and may the road raise up to meet ye'
