April 25, 201214 yr I put mine on my Delta Rockwell 15" Drill Press tonight, I have a few mortises I am going to do. I have put this on my DP about 20 times in the last 4 years, and each time, I forget how the thing goes on! So this time I took a picture just to remind myself in the future. It works well, it is inconvenient in the sense that each time you want to use it, you have to take about 20 minutes to set it up, but like I said, I use it on average 5 times a year so it does not bother me to set it up. I did a couple test runs and it works great. I am cutting some 3/8" mortises, within the mortises I am going to drill for screw holes to attach the top to my case work I am working right now, then I will plug it with a square piece of ebony. Plane it flush and we'll have some beautiful ebony accents at the top of the case. John MorrisThe Patriot WoodworkerProud Supporter of Wounded Warrior Project and Homes For Our Troops
April 25, 201214 yr Looks good John! I have one of those myself and I know what a pain it is to set up so I bought a dedicated JET motiser and I haven't used it since I bought it. Hopefully I'll start using it when I start on my bedroom furniture this winter.
April 25, 201214 yr Author That's kind of what I am afraid of Mike, buying a dedicated one and never using it! I would normally chop these out by hand since they are just for decorative purposes in this case, but I really wanted to see the attachment work again. hockey sticks I probably could have chopped em out by hand in the time it took to set it up! I heard the JET mortiser is really nice, great choice!Mike Dillen said: Looks good John!
